2012 Block of the Month

"Bird's Eye View" is our Block of the Month for 2012. This BOM was created by Lynn Hagmeier of Kansas Trouble Designs. The quilt is a beautiful sampler inspired by the sights and sounds from Lynn's studio window. It was made with a variety of prints from several of the KT fabrics lines and features applique that can be done in wool or cotton. The finished size of this quilt is 96 x 104.

Classes wil start the 2nd weekend of March with three classes offered Thursday - 6:30pm; Friday - 1:30pm; and  Saturday - 10:00am. Subsequent classes will run the 2nd weekend of the month for the next 9 months. You will construct 12 block sets plus finishing borders. This is a lecture style class so there is no need to bring sewing supplies. Cost for classes includes the borders and binding. There is an additional cost for applique and embellishments. Mail orders are welcomed with shipping & handling added. 


•  1st month's cost - $75.00 - includes pattern, background fabric, and 1st month's block.
•  $15.00 for each additional month for 9 months - includes all fabric for blocks, borders, & binding.                
   There is an extra cost for wool or cotton applique and embellishments.



Merry, Merry Snowmen is a fun and whimsical appliqued quilt that you will enjoy every season. It was designed by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. The fabric is exactly as shown using the new collection designed by French General called "Rouenneries Deux" for Moda.  The quilt measures 62 x 66.

At the beginning of every month - starting April 1st  and running thru January - a new kit will be available for purchase. Kits include fabric, pattern, and embellishments to complete that month's block. Border and binding are also included in kit cost. Machine or traditional applique can be used for blocks.

One of our favorite BOM has been Primitive Garden created by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings. This beautiful quilt  is made with wool which is appliqued onto a cotton background. The blocks are set with a scrappy sashing. There are 10 blocks and 4 borders that make up this gorgeous quilt which finishes at 70" x 82".

Patterns must be purchased at the time of sign-up and each month you will purchase the wool kit needed for that month's block. Kit cost is $24 each month and includes wool and background fabric. All threads used are an additional cost.* Program is non-refundable and non-cancelable. We will be starting a new session in Jan. 2012.

"Vintage Style" was designed by Monique Dillard of Open Gate. It is a beautiful baroque influenced fabric which includes large scale prints, backgrounds, tonals, and small scale patterns. The colors are inspired by the cities of Europe—from creamy marbles of Florence to the garnet reds of Madrid and garden greens of Strasburg. Monique designed the fabric for Maywood Studios and she calls her new line Olde World Style. The finished size of this quilt is 90" x 108".

There is a limited number of kits left for this BOM. The kit includes all the fabric needed to construct the top of this beautiful quiilt. The binding and pattern are also included in this price.  Cost of kit is $190.
